Zusammenfassung:

Der Zusammenhang zwischen traumatisierenden Kindheitserfahrungen und der Ausbildung somatoformer Störungen wird zunehmend deutlicher erkannt, hinsichtlich seiner neurobiologischen Grundlagen jedoch erst in jüngster Zeit untersucht. Erste Bildgebungsbefunde liefern entscheidende Hinweise auf eine veränderte neuronale Prozessierung, z. B. von empathisch wahrgenommenem Schmerz zwischen mssbrauchten und nicht mssbrauchten Patienten mit einer multisomatoformen Schmerzstörung, welche die zentralnervöse Schmerzverarbeitung wie –kontrolle involviert und nicht zuletzt eine störungsorientierte Adaptation des psychotherapeutischen Umgangs mit diesen Patienten auf eine neurobiologische Grundlage stellt.

Summary:

The connection between traumatic childhood experiences and the emergence of somatoform disorders has been identified with increasing clarity. But only recently have attempts been made to investigate this connection for its neurobiological implications. Initial imaging evidence provides decisive indications of differences in the neuronal processing of, say, empathically perceived pain between abused and non-abused patients with a multi-somatoform pain disorder involving pain processing and control in the central nervous system. One important aspect of these indications is that they provide a neurobiological foundation for disorder-oriented adaptation of the psychotherapeutic approach to these patients.
